Meet Mr Tolani
Tolani started his professional career with Captain Bancorp Limited in 1993 where he grew through the rank to lead, credit and investment unit, from where he moved to Omas Investment and Trust Limited as the Chief Operating Officer, to Corner stone leasing and investment as General Manager/ CEO, all companies which operated in Nigeria non-bank financial institution. Tolani also had a stint at the Financial Derivatives Company Limited, a leading Investment and Research Company.
In 2005 he moved to Abuja as the first Managing Director/ CEO of Abuja Leasing Limited, Subsidiary of Abuja Investment Limited (PCTA Investment Arm)- Operators of legendary Abuja green Cabs, where he pioneered the introduction of the organized Taxi system in Nigeria with special focus on SME lending/ leasing. In 2005 he moved to Stockcorp Group limited, a multi- disciplinary non-bank financial institution with interest in Asset Management. Micro Finance Bank Bureau De Change, where he has served as the Group Managing Director.
He thereafter left 2019 to join Grand Treasurer Limited, (Hallmark Finance Company) Limited, a subsidiary of a quoted insurance company, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance PLC as a Managing Director/ CEO where he led the team that transformed the company, in June 2023 he moved to Sohcahtoa Finance Company Limited, A CBN Licensed Finance House where he led the start-up team of the company as the pioneer Managing Director/CEO. Tolani again led the company at infancy stage, responsible for establishment and licensing of the firm and making it a profit yielding company in the first year of operation.
Tolani at one time led Abuja Leasing Company as one of the winners of All World’s African 500 and Tony Elumelu Foundation which facilitated his being invited to the All-World’s Summit of 100 Individuals around the world to Harvard Business School from June 24- 27, 2013 amongst individual that have piloted best run private/ public companies in Nigeria in 2012. He is a recipient of several other awards.
In October, 2025 Mr. Tolani was headhunted by a leading consultancy firm/Government of Ekiti State as the Group Managing Director/ CEO, Fountain Holdings Limited (Investment Arm of Ekiti State Government) to come and revive, restructure, re-energize and lead all the investment activities of the state through the state Investment Holding Company.
Tolani was also former Chairman, Institute of Directors, Abuja branch and Director, Equipment Leasing Association of Nigeria (ELAN), He has also been a member of several adhoc committees in FCT on Transportation Microfinance Investment Related Issues and a key Player in the Leasing and Finance Industry in Nigeria. He is a keen Golf player and member of IBB Golf Club, Abuja and Ikoyi Club 1938.
Mr. Tolani also holds non-executive directorship position of other companies amongst which includes Ikun Dairy Farm Limited and Ire-Clay Product Limited.
Qualifications
Tolani is an alumnus of Bayero University Kano. He holds a master in Business Administrative degree from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He has attended several courses within and outside the country amongst which is the senior Management Program of the Lagos business school. Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania USA, Oxford Strategic Leadership Program of Said Business School, Oxford University, UK, School of Management, University college (UCLA) California USA, Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. He is also a chartered Stockbroker and Fellow Chartered Institute of Stockbroker of Nigeria, Member Chartered Institute of Directors in Nigeria and Member Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN) member, Institute of Administration, Mr. Tolani is a Stockbroker, Investment Expert, Administrator and Accountant with over 30 years’ experience.
